Corrigendum

Chaves, G.S.S., Ghisi, G.L.M., Grace, S.L., Oh, P., Ribeiro, A.L. & Britto, R.R. (2016). Effects of comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation on functional capacity and cardiovascular risk factors in Brazilian patients assisted by public health care: Protocol for a randomized controlled trial. Brazilian Journal of Physical Therapy;20(6):592-600. Nov/Dec. https://doi.org/10.1590/bjpt-rbf.2014.0192

The authors of the above paper regret to advise that the following corrections are required in order to rectify copyright errors with the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8).

The following 2 citations should have appeared in relation to the MMAS-8 scale in the measures subsection on page 597:

Morisky DE, Ang A, Krousel-Wood M, Ward H. Predictive validity of a medication adherence measure for hypertension control. Journal of Clinical Hypertension. 2008; 10(5):348-354.

Krousel-Wood MA, Islam T, Webber LS, Re RS, Morisky DE, Muntner P. New medication adherence scale versus pharmacy fill rates in seniors with hypertension. Am J Manag Care. 2009;15(1):59-66.

On page 597 please delete “The scale contains seven questions with closed dichotomous (yes/no) response options and the last question is scored on a 5-point Likert from “never” to “always”. Scores are totaled, with higher scores indicating greater adherence, and scores above the cut-off of 6 considered “adherence”.”

An acknowledgement must also be added:

“MMAS-8 is protected by US and International Trademark and Copyright laws. Permission for use is required. A license agreement is available from: MMAS Research LLC 14725 NE 20th St. Bellevue WA 98007”
